"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." - Deuteronomy 6.4-9
Heritage Christian School is a ministry to Christian families that seeks to help parents fulfill their calling to teach their children to love the LORD as their God with all their being. Scripture declares that God's Word should first be in the hearts of the parents, so parents of prospective HCS students are expected to profess a personal faith in Jesus Christ and to belong to a local church, and the same requirement is made of HCS teachers, since they are aiding parents in teaching their children God's Word and God's truth every day and in every area of life. We want the truth about God and God's world to be as apparent to our children as would be a sign bound on our hands or forehead, or words written on our doors and gates.

Toward this goal of discipling our children in what is true and good, Heritage Christian School seeks to maintain a curriculum that encourages personal faith in Christ and integrates spiritual and intellectual truth in all academic subjects. Teachers love and pray for their students as they work to provide a learning environment that will help each individual child to grow in faith and wisdom. Classes use A Beka Book curriculum materials in all grade levels, and Bible memory work is done with the New King James version. Relatively small class sizes allow individualized attention and encourage friendships among students. Contributions of volunteers and the use of fund raising programs help to maintain reasonable tuition rates. (Multiple student discounts are provided.) HCS parents form the foundation for an active school board and parents organization, and HCS graduates have a record of success in their continued education.
